INTRODUCTION. Mr. Babafemi Elaturoti, a Nigerian, born on 12th February, 1974, started photography as a hobby in September 1996. His genius for photography which has manifested today can be traced back to his childhood. He saw, approached, reasoned and reacted to things around him in a unique way as compared to his contemporaries, an 'infant prodigy' to call him. Babafemi never took up an apprenticeship with any photographer before he could thrive and also display great aesthetics in the field. Although he encountered some intricacies in his diverse approaches. Babafemi learned solely from his mistakes. Within the first six months of his practice, he had become an erudite photographer. His works were cherished by many people, which won him a lot of kudos. He gained more knowledge from the encyclopedia and other write-ups on photography. | ||||||||||||||||

As an aesthete, Babafemi is also doing well in fine-arts and music which are some of the ramifications of creativity. The special curriculum of the University of Ibadan Staff School, where he had his primary education from 1978 - 1985 also aided his development in many works of arts including poetry, drama and even cooking. Babafemi has vast experience in practical photography. He is exceptionally good at recopying from printed pictures. Due to this virtue, he has been approached by a vast number of people, including professional photographers, to recopy for them. He has also attained mastery in motion pictures. he knows how and when to freeze an actionto create a scintillating display. Femi also practices modelling. His work in this field has spanned accross different cultures of the world. Artists in Nigeria seek his expertise in modelling for their sleeves and flyers. Babafemi's greatest domain is nature photography. He exhibits a high sense of creativity in producing his nature works making them a pleasant sight to see. He travels to many parts of his country to capture scenaries. His pictures communicate a great deal and have won him accolades in Nigeria and even outside Nigeria. Some of the photographs he took have been used in magazines and for interior decoration. He has been invited to cover numerous weddings, birthday parties, graduations, government functions and excursions. On October 1, 1997, (Nigeria's independence day), Babafemi took the photograph of a very rare phenomenon which he wishes to present to the National Museum. In the light of the landmark which he is making in photography, he lectures as a resource person at workshops on basic photography organized at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria's Premier University. Babafemi holds a Nigerian Higher National Diploma in Accountancy of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Nigeria. He is also a registered student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Dedication, hardwork and perseverance are Babafemi's keys to success and in the same notion, he is determined to attain greater heights in the creative field of photography.
